Bank Holiday spruce up!

Never a day for venturing out into the traffic, so a lie in, hearty breakfast followed by stripping the fridge of all shelves, washing and replacing.
I'm proud to say that there was only one item past it's sell by date - Amaretto sir op-syrup.unopened, surprisingly.
Very little food as I have yet to shop after a week in Denmark.
Good to start afresh.
Now for the garden!

Super Weekend.....

I can't compete withe Olympics, but did get into the spirit of things comparing the preparation necessary with that of preparing for everlasting life.
Some pics of the garden, which just gets on with it, if watered and fed occasionally:

Why were there only 4 strawberries after all of that effort?

My three remaining carriage clock cases up for grabs.

and a vintage Triang doll's high chair.

If considering switching to N Power for anything other than aggravation and time wasting......

Taking the advice of "Money Expert" I attempted to change my energy supplier in April, having been with Scottish Power for 15 years.
This was predicted to save me about £20 per month.
I filled in the forms, and heard nothing.
Eventually I received the letter, my name slightly wrong, delivered to a cottage down the road, to whom it was addressed...almost.
I informed them of their errors, by phone.
The reply went to the same address.
This happened 3 times, by which time I had long since decided to not touch N Power with a barge pole.
By June I noticed that they were taking payment from my bank account.
They told me that this was an error and I was paying for the cottage along the road.
They took a second payment so I reclaimed and stopped the DD.
Among the barrage of letters, all wrongly addressed, I was informed that they would cease to supply me - not a problem as they never had done.
I also have a rather threatening letter, giving me the address of the property, in Plymouth, whose bill they wish me to continue paying.
After many  letters from them, two long letters from me and almost weekly phone calls from me to ask for the letters to cease, a member of the complaints dept phoned me about 3 weeks ago, promised that the hassle was all over and I would receive £40 compensation .
I have since had several letters, final bills with different amounts demanded and made two more weekly phone calls.
Today I am told that all is sorted.
Today I am told that I will receive only one more letter, with £60 compensation.
Time will tell.

E bay gone mad.

Thirteen e bay parcels sent off today, the i pad till didn't seem to stop ringing all day yesterday?
Most pleasing was a black tin trunk monogrammed with "James Berrey Limited" in beautiful gold script.
They were one of the foremost lace makers in Nottingham in the nineteenth century and it's gone back to Nottingham.

Busy weekend starting early on Saturday selling at a car boot sale at Middleton - really warm, lots of folk about.
Cleared up by noon after a 5 hour stint, but a lot less to bring home.
Sermon finished in the afternoon, followed by a soak in the bath - bliss!
Two services on Sunday followed by assisting at a Baptism at 12.30 at NW.
Home to change, then an afternoon in the garden, mowing the lawns - tidying up in the main but 3 loads of grass from the lawns alone.
Football pitch all ready for T later in the week.
The mole on the grass outside had about 16 molehills, walkers stopping to marvel at their proximity and watching them build the next one
He couldn't have liked the mower as he seems to have gone, fingers crossed!
To friends for dinner which was great andIdidn't have to think about what to cook.
