Day 2 on shore.

On Saturday we docked in Port Said & took an early morning, 3 hour trip to Alexandria, where we visited the museum, library (initially founded about 450BC by Ptolemy), the catacombs & palaces. The back streets were fascinating, bustling, narrow & colourful. It deserves a second visit. Back late.
Yesterday we came through the Suez Canal, over 100 miles, which took from 2.00am until 2.oopm - lots of ships!
This morning we docked in Safaga & took an early trip to temples on the NIle, to the North.
Good, but 8 hours in the coach for 2 1/2 hours at the sites.
Just had a great dinner with excellent company - a couple from Loo, bookmaker & wife, who runs a touristy shop.
He's opening a book (privately) on the number who "pop their clogs" on board.
Average age is 68!!
Some other youngsters like us.
Off to the Dead sea tomorrow.

Dead sea - popped clogs!?
If the average age is 68 then you two are within a Standard Deviation - well under the bell curve.
We are freezing at about -15C in Colorado - think of us!

Are you sure it doesn't smell of wee?

The on board laundry has special washing powder for brown clothes I understand. There is draught lilly of the valley perfume in the bathroom along with Izal toilet paper.

I see we're finding the level!Dead Sea tastes dire and so salty it tingles in parts that don't tingle often enough. Mud smells a bit like a ripe nappy.supposedly does your skin good. if you want to see a line of gerrys looking non PC like ther B&W Mistrels ( but a lot less lively) this is the place.G

Music, mud, museums and morbid mingling. You were probably upgraded because you have more years of cruising ahead of you than the rest, so it's a better investment.

1. Who are you calling "deviant"?
All this talk of "bell curves" - is Bill Clinton there somewhere?
2.What?
We don't, yet.
3.Obviously affected by the toilet arrangements at home in your early days, B.
You can even put the izal down the loo after use, so there!
4. Smelled & tasted foul, but the mud did us good.
5.Dead right!
